‘Bride Trafficking’ – a Chinese immigration issue

China is not only a source country for migrants, along with its economic development, it is more and more becoming a destination country. This also means that China will have to get serious about their own immigration policies and procedures. I wrote an article about the issue of trafficking of ‘brides’ from Vietnam and Burma to southern Chinese provinces, about the structural causes for this, and how China’s immigration policies must incorporate a wider spectrum of internationals.
